Dear chief secretary, There’s no money left.

That’s how former chief secretary to the Treasury, Liam Byrne, announced to new chief secretary to the Treasury, David Laws, that the Labour Government of the last 13 years had chipped away at the Country and bought it to its knees.

Wasteful spending, large undeserved bonuses and a blinkered vision of what was really happening had meant that the last party in power had effectively crippled the UK.

So why did we, as the people with the power, fail to do something about this sooner? We believed the lies that were being dished up. In fact it seems that Labour themselves even believed these lies, or rather, didn’t want to acknowledge what was really happening.

No one can be held accountable, and no one should get the blame; that’s the policy of the Labour party. If you fail, never mind, have a little bonus to pep you up and try again. No slap on the wrists there.

Let’s hope we remember this for many, many years to come. Labour came, raped and murdered and then left. This should never be allowed to happen again.

A Deal in the Pub…

…is usually a bum deal.

Recently a client of mine decided to get a whole new website (new design, new domain name, new design company) as a result of a complete lack of technical knowledge and the fact that he was partial to listening to the inane and (in this case) incorrect ramblings of the drinking buddy of the time.

It can be commercial suicide to replace a perfectly good, attractive website that is less than 18 months old with a new, less attractive (yes I am biased but also correct) that does less.

People do tend to have more money than sense, something that still baffles me as I spend a lot of my time trying to save my clients money.

The bad thing here is that the new domain name will undoubtedly affect search engine rankings, a very bad move. It is also a lot longer, another bad move.

It is frustrating when clients succumb to drunken talk of how their fortunes can be improved and then give the go ahead without even consulting the existing provider to get the other side of the story.

Oh well.
Next.

Lock up the Parents

Everyone must have heard the story about the 10 and 11 year olds that tortured and practically killed a 9 and 11 year old in the South Yorkshire village of Edlington last year.

Shockingly the two boys got off rather lightly, but I see no mention of the parents who have legal responsibility over their children and in fact made them the horrific little bastards that they barely grew up to be.

The parents should be banged up indefinitely for creating such mindless creatures and inflicting them on society. What’s worse is that the father had no remorse over what his little f*ckwits had done, when asked by Police initially he claimed the runts were with him.

This deranged family had a history well known to Social Services and the Police. The kids assaulted teachers and had a string of criminal convictions. When is society going to get hard on the youth of today that have no respect for their fellow human being?

Is this just another symptom of the spiralling depths to which this Country is heading? It surely is. There is no respect, not any more.
